This post has been updated to reflect correct acreage of Woodforest and Pine Market. 1. Conroe Industrial Park North The 1,655-acre Conroe Industrial Development Corp.’s street rehabilitation project of Conroe Industrial Park North, a continuing enterprise for the city’s manufacturing sector, is slated to kick off in January, expanding the park's capacity to offer more space to prospective tenants. 2. The Woodlands Hills The Howard Hughes Corporation is developing one of the Greater Houston area’s newest master-planned communities, the 2,000-acre The Woodlands Hills, which broke ground in 2017 and celebrated a grand opening in summer 2018. It plans to continue to offer new one- and two-story single-family homes in 2019. 3. Grand Central Park Along with seeing the November groundbreaking of Sam Houston State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, Grand Central Park also expects to open a home information center in late spring 2019, and see the addition of a 13-acre Lake House amenity complex with a playground and fishing pond in 2019 and a pool and event spaces by 2020. It is also being considered as a site for a future convention center. 4. Woodforest Along with the 40-acre Pine Market Center commercial plaza now under construction, the 3,000-acre Woodforest is also expecting Montgomery-based custom home builder Tipler to add more than 100 homes to the Pine Island gated community, which totals 65 acres, in Phase 2 of the neighborhood's buildout. 5. Ranch Hill The city of Conroe created a 170-acre municipal utility district in order for Ranch Hill Texas, LLC to build 400 single-family homes in the area with an anticipated 2019 start date. This is one of two new MUDs the city added for 2019 on Dec. 13 when the City Council also approved four direct annexations that came into effect at midnight on Dec. 31, 2018. The annexations—including Roman Hills, Horton-Barton Woods, the Maxedon property and the Judy Campbell property—were requested by the land developers and are places to watch for future large development projects.
