Thirty-One Gifts, a direct-selling company known for its bags and accessories, announced Friday it is moving its national distribution center from Columbus, Ohio, to Flower Mound and bringing hundreds of jobs with it. “The town’s proximity to the DFW Airport, major roadways, and the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex continue to be a winning combination when it comes to attracting quality companies like Thirty-One Gifts,” Flower Mound Mayor Steve Dixon said. “We welcome them to the Flower Mound community and support their continued success as they grow and expand their business.” The company is leasing 651,000 square feet of distribution center space at 951 Garden Ridge Blvd., Flower Mound, inside the Lakeside Business District. "We're really excited to begin this next chapter of growth in the Dallas area," CEO and founder Cindy Monroe said. "We're looking forward to being part of the local business community and bringing 650 jobs to the region." Flower Mound Director of Communications Molly Fox said the addition of 650 jobs would make Thirty-One Gifts Flower Mound's second-largest private employer. Flower Mound will collect sales tax on any Thirty-One Gifts purchase sourced in Texas, which accounts for approximately 5 to 10 percent of the company’s sales. The Town estimates this to translate into $200,000 in new tax revenue annually. Key employees are expected to move in January. Hiring for the company will also begin in January. Fulfillment operations are expected to begin in April. The move will affect about 800 employees who work at the Columbus distribution center. The company said in a news release those workers have been invited to relocate to Dallas. Those who remain in Columbus will be eligible for a severance package and outplacement services.
