Red: Italian in Denton adjusts opening date to mid-August
Red: Italian announced it will be opened for business in by the end of the summer.
The new Italian eatery revealed in a social media post that it will be opening in mid-August. Red: Italian originally was supposed to open in May, according to previous reporting.
The restaurant is located below cocktail bar Ruby Rodeo off the Denton square. Both establishments are co-owned by Mike Church and Victor Garcia, per previous reporting.
Red: Italian will offer comfort Italian food in a speakeasy atmosphere, with seating limited to just 50 guests.
New McDonald's under construction on Loop 288 in Denton
A new McDonald’s is under construction near the intersection of Loop 288 and Hummingbird Lane in Denton near Health Services of North Texas. Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation documents state the location was scheduled to complete construction in late April.
McDonald’s currently operates seven locations in Denton, according to the company website. The business offers fast food burgers, sandwiches, fries and ice cream.
The building will cover 4,421 square feet and cost $1.5 million to construct, per TDLR documents.
Teaspoon offers boba tea at first Denton location
California-based boba tea shop Teaspoon opened its first Denton location at the Rayzor Ranch shopping center in late May, a company representative said.
The company offers several teas, like Thai tea, honey oolong and cream-infused jasmine green tea, along with coffee drinks.
Denton gourmet hot dog food truck El Perro Loco relocates
El Perro Loco, known for its loaded hot dogs, relocated to a new spot after the Fourth of July, owner Chris Childers said.
The food truck offers gourmet hot dogs, street tacos, loaded fries, elote, breakfast tacos, breakfast burritos and drinks such as fresh-squeezed lemonade.
Specialty hot dogs include The Elote Dog, which is a 100% Angus beef hot dog wrapped in bacon and covered with mayo, corn, cotija cheese, Tajin and is topped with cilantro and lime. Childers said their bestseller is The L.A. Dog, which comes with carne asada, grilled onions, raw onion, cilantro mix and salsa verde.
Childers said the food truck held its grand reopening July 15 for National Hot Dog Day and sold nearly 300 hot dogs in a six-hour span. He added that he and his wife, Jeanette, use quality, fresh ingredients that are prepared daily.
