With all precincts reporting, Bill E. Waybourn has won the Republican primary runoff Tarrant County sheriff race against incumbent Dee Anderson.
Waybourn received 54.91 percent of the votes, or 17,684 votes, compared to Anderson, who received 45.09 percent of the votes, or 14,521 votes.
All results are unofficial until canvassed.

After early voting results were released May 24, Bill E. Waybourn is winning the Republican primary runoff election for Tarrant County Sheriff.
Waybourn received 54.42 percent of the early votes, or 10,171 votes, compared to opponent Dee Anderson who received 45.58 percent of the early votes, or 8,519 votes.
Neither candidate received more than 50 percent of the total votes in the March 1 primary election, thereby resulting in the candidates facing off in a runoff election. On March 1, Anderson received 48.59 percent and Waybourn received 40.67 percent of the votes.
Incumbent Dee Anderson is a native of Tarrant County and has held multiple positions with the Arlington Police Department. Anderson co-founded Amber Alert, a cooperative effort between law enforcement and the media to instantly alert the public of a suspected child abduction. The Ambert Alert system has received statewide and national recognition. Anderson is seeking his fifth and final term.
Challenger Waybourn, a former Dalworthington Gardens police chief for 31 years, ran against Anderson in the Republican primary in 2008. Waybourn’s entire law enforcement career was spent on the police force of Dalworthington Gardens, a small bedroom community surrounded by Arlington. He also worked with the security police in the Air Force.
