The city of Richardson’s Engineering and Capital Projects Department will host an online public meeting at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 27 to present proposed improvements to Glenville Drive and receive community feedback.

Project plans include a full reconstruction of the roadway and sidewalks, enhancements for bicyclists and pedestrians, and new landscaping and lighting as well as upgrades to underground utilities. The work will span from Campbell Road to Arapaho Road.

The improvements will also include new “smart city” features that will improve maintenance, safety and operations along the corridor, according to a city news release.

Construction is slated to begin this summer.

Glenville Drive is part of The Richardson Innovation Quarter, a 1,200-acre industrial area east of the Central Expressway that the city plans to turn into the “premier tech hub in Texas,” as it was described in a 2018 vision statement. Richardson has funded several infrastructure projects to help facilitate the area’s growth and create a place where "start-ups and scale-ups can collaborate and thrive," according to The IQ's website.
