Part of Main Street in Richardson will be completely closed to traffic this weekend as crews construct a storm sewer crossing, according to the city.

The closure will stretch between Interurban and McKinney streets and will be in place from Feb. 8-9. The city is encouraging motorists to avoid the area.

A new city partnership with mobile app Waze app allows drivers to get up-to-date information about traffic conditions in the Main area. Citizens are encouraged to download the app for traffic updates and to help plan alternate routes.

Construction of the storm sewer crossing is part of the Main redevelopment project. Roadway changes began in 2019 and are expected to last through the end of this year, according to the city. To learn more about the project, visit this page.
