Lennox Innovation may see an expansion following action by the Richardson City Plan Commission during its Dec. 17 meeting.

The commission recommended approval for a case to rezone the facility’s existing space to build a research laboratory. The 7.52-acre property located at 2140 Lake Park Blvd., currently houses a three story parking garage and an eight story office building.

The details

The new facility will function similarly to an existing facility located in Carrollton. The company will operate, test and develop new systems for climate control equipment. The center will contain an office area and testing rooms with limited occupancy, according to city documents.

The future land use plan designates this area as industrial/innovation, which includes facilities that support research and development.

Going forward

Richardson City Council will have final approval of the zoning change and will consider it in an upcoming meeting.
