City services to be altered for Richardson residents on Martin Luther King Jr. holiday

The city of Richardson has altered its trash and recycling pickup as well as facility hours for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, according to a news release.

There will be no trash, recycling, or brush and bulky item pickup on Jan. 17. There will not be replacement pickup days.


Residents scheduled for recycling pickup on Mondays will have a pickup Jan. 18, and those scheduled for Tuesdays will have pickup Jan. 19.

Additionally, City Hall, the civic center, the city animal shelter, the Richardson Public Library, the Eisemann Center and the municipal court will each be closed Jan. 17. The Richardson Gymnastics Center, the city's recreation centers, the senior center, the tennis center and the Sherrill Park Golf Course will all be open Jan. 17.
