Ryan Binkley has withdrawn from the Republican primary runoff for US House District 32, leaving Jace Yarbrough as the party’s candidate for the seat in the November election.
Yarbrough will face Democratic nominee and current Richardson council member Dan Barrios in November.
What you need to know
Yarbrough received 33,812, or 48.96% of votes in the March 3 Republican primary election, narrowly missing the 50% mark needed to avoid a runoff election, which would have been on the March 26 ballot.
Binkley finished second of nine primary candidates, receiving 15,000 votes. He announced his withdrawal from the runoff in a March 17 statement, in which he also congratulated Yarbrough on his victory and a “disciplined campaign.”

Barrios defeated Anthony Bridges in the District 32 Democratic primary, receiving 60.07% of votes.
District 32 touches parts of nine North Texas cities, including Dallas, Plano and Richardson.
