Dallas-based developer Sphinx Development is planning a new apartment complex in Richardson.

A proposal to build up to 210 apartments within a five-story building was recommended for approval by the Richardson City Plan Commission during its May 21 meeting.

The overview

Sphinx plans to build the new apartment complex along North Glenville Drive, near the intersection with Waterwood Drive, which is close to Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s Galatyn Park Station. Victoria Morris, a land use attorney with Jackson Walker, LLP representing Sphinx Development, said most of the 210 apartments would be one- and two-bedroom units.

Tekevwe Okobiah, vice president of portfolio development and asset acquisitions at Sphinx Development, said rents would likely range between $1,000 and $1,600.

What’s next?

With the recommendation of approval, the case will be considered by Richardson City Council, likely during its June 10 meeting.
