Collin County health officials reported 30 additional cases of the new coronavirus May 8.

The county also reported the deaths of three people who had tested positive for the virus. An 82-year-old McKinney man and a 92-year-old Plano man, both with underlying health conditions, and a 50-year-old man with a serious underlying health condition brought Collin County's confirmed death count to 27.

The county has 280 active cases of the virus, and has reported 887 total positive cases.

Richardson residents make up 18 cases of the total count, as shown on the county’s online dashboard May 8.

As of this afternoon, 580 of the county’s total cases have recovered and 21 are hospitalized, while 259 remain in home isolation.




There have been 10,012 negative COVID-19 tests in Collin County. There were 1,417 people being monitored for the virus as of May 8.
