Richardson to close facilities, suspend services on Martin Luther King Jr. Day


Several city facilities in Richardson will close Jan. 21 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Certain city services will also be suspended.

Richardson City Hall/Civic Center, the public library, The Eisemann Center, the municipal court and the animal shelter will close for the holiday. Citizens can report nonemergency animal-related issues by calling the city’s response center at 972-744-4111.

Trash and recycling will not be collected during the holiday. Makeup days for Jan. 21 and Jan. 22 recycling service will be held Jan. 22 and Jan. 23, respectively. There will be no makeup days for trash or bulky and brush items.
