Prosper and Celina drivers can expect to see a lower speed limit on sections of FM 1385 soon.
Celina City Council members approved changing the speed limit on portions of the roadway at their April 14 meeting. The lower speed limit was also approved April 7 by Prosper Town Council.
Some context
The Texas Department of Transportation recently completed a speed study in Celina on FM 1385 from Parvin Road to the northern city limit boundary, which stretches through several municipalities, including Prosper. The study showed most drivers were within a range of 47 mph to 53 mph, while the road’s existing speed limit sits around 55 mph.
