Cook Children’s Medical Center Prosper has promoted current Vice President Kevin Greene to serve as its president going forward, according to a Feb. 28 news release from Cook Children’s Health Care System.
Before his promotion, Greene served as the medical center’s vice president since October 2022, roughly two months before the center officially opened in early 2023, and as a Cook Children’s assistant vice president since May 2019.
Greene oversaw the development and growth of the Prosper campus, according to the release. Under his leadership, the campus expanded to include a 24/7 electroencephalogram, or EEG services, and increased emergency department and inpatient bed capacity.
“This growth ensures that Cook Children’s Prosper can meet the increasing needs of the community,” according to the release.
In his own words
“Collaboration is my favorite value,” Greene said in the release. “It emphasizes the importance of creating a singular alignment around our commitment to providing world-class pediatric care to every family that entrusts us with the care of their most prized gift, their child. It is also a driving factor behind what makes Cook Children’s culture so special—a desire by all 10,000-plus team members to work together and to be an advocate for every child, family, and one another.”
Greene is looking forward to spending fiscal year 2025 working with the team to add on critical clinical programs such as trauma and NICU to “live out our pinky promise in Prosper—everything for the child,” according to the release.
The details
Greene graduated from Trinity University and Abilene Christian University. His career with Cook Children’s began when he was hired as an intern in 2008. He later worked as a project coordinator in the Information Services department from 2011-13 before temporarily leaving the healthcare company.
Before rejoining the Cook Children’s system in 2019, Greene held various positions at HCA Houston Healthcare West, Lake Granbury Medical Center and Cedar Park Regional Medical Center, according to the release.
