A 40-bed rehabilitation hospital is open in Prosper.

The grand opening celebration for the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Prosper was held Jan. 23 with the Prosper Chamber of Commerce, according to a news release. The inpatient rehabilitation hospital helps patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions, the release states.

Patients receive intensive physical therapy for at least three hours a day, frequent physician visits and 24-hour nursing care.
