Celina City Council approved an agreement for the development, called The Parks at Wilson Creek, at its meeting May 13.
The details
The agreement approved by the council was for funding of the project through a public improvement district that is helping pay for the development. It specifically pertains to the first phase of the project, which is set to include 49 single-family homes.
The Parks at Wilson Creek LP, the developer, will receive about $3.9 million through the PID to help fund the first phase of the project.
This money will be used for improvements to roadways, water, sanitary sewer and storm drainage in the area, according to city documents.
Phase 1 will cover about 11.7 acres of land.
What else?
Celina officials are planning a 100-acre park that will border the development. It will include sports fields, trails and open space. The City Council approved the Wilson Creek Park master plan in 2024, with plans to open it in 2026.
