Celina City Council unanimously approved the annexation of the 14 acres of land and also approved the zoning ordinance ahead of the future development of the church during a Dec. 10 council meeting.
The land, which is located north of County Road 58 and west of County Road 59, is now zoned for community facility district.
The city’s planning and zoning committee recommended the city approve the annexation and zoning change.
Council members approved the development agreement for the church in April 2024. The site plans were not up for a vote during the annexation.
