Celina residents will see a new playground at Old Celina Park in summer 2025.

The details

Celina City Council members approved a $7.23 million guaranteed maximum price for construction of a new playground for the park during a May 14 meeting.

“We’ve been trying to build [the playground] for the last three years,” Celina Engineering Director Andy Glasgow said.

The cost, which includes a 10% contingency fee, will include constructing a water feature and multiuse court. The playground will encourage all-inclusive play for children ages 2-12 through different areas, according to a meeting presentation.
