Residents can attend the meeting at 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 13 in person at Town Hall, located at 250 W. First St., Prosper, or virtually at www.prospertx.gov/livemeetings.
The breakdown
Master plan updates typically take a year and involve multiple check-ins and opportunities for public input.
Since approving a contract with consultants Dunaway Associates in early January, an advisory committee of various town stakeholders from local sports groups, Prosper ISD and business owners has already been formed, according to agenda documents.
The next step is creating two focus groups to generate additional public input. The groups’ invitees are still being discussed by members of Prosper’s Parks and Recreation Board and town staff, but are expected to include:
- Citizens Academy alumni
- Chamber of Commerce members
- Community Engagement Committee members
- Homeowners association leaders
- Members of Prosper’s parks, sports and development communities
What else?
After hearing feedback from council members, the first meeting with the advisory committee is scheduled for March 5, according to meeting documents.
After that, consultants will begin looking into analyzing Prosper’s population, standards, demand and needs as well as studying similar cities and their parks systems.
