Rodeo Celina is set to pay homage to the city’s cowboy culture and will benefit local school programs.

The inaugural event will be hosted by the Greater Celina Chamber Foundation and is sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. It will be held at the Southfork Ranch in Parker, which was donated by the ranch’s owner Centurion American.

A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit Celina ISD’s Agriculture Department and the Celina Future Farmers of America chapter.

Celina resident Punk Carter has dreamed of having an indoor arena in the city and said the rodeo is the beginning of it becoming reality.

“It looks like our dream is finally coming true,” Carter said in a news release.
