Incumbent Philip Ferguson won over challenged Dorothy Allan in the race for Celina City Council Place 1.

The results include all of Collin and Denton County election results.

Ferguson leads with 1,022 votes or 53.65% with Allan trailing with 883 votes.

“I appreciate all the voters who voted and decided the direction of their city and my opponent for a spirited race," Ferguson said. "I look forward to serving the citizens for the next three years.”

Ferguson leads with 1,021 votes or 53.71% with Allan trailing with 880 votes.

Incumbent Philip Ferguson leads over Dorothy Allan in the race for Celina City Council Place 1 according to early election polling numbers.

Collin and Denton counties have released early voting totals for Celina’s lone contested City Council race.

What you need to know

Ferguson took an early lead over Allan with early voting totals rolling in for the council seat. Ferguson has garnered 748 votes or 55.7% while Allan trailed with 595 votes.

What else?

In early voting, there were 54,401 ballots cast countywide, which represents 7.35% of Collin County's 740,482 voters.

In early voting, there were 29,162 ballots cast countywide, which represents 4.76% of Denton County's 613,020 voters.

Totals from ballots cast May 3 have yet to be released. Polls closed at 7 p.m., although voters who were in line at 7 p.m. were still able to cast ballots.
