Filing for the May 3 elections for the Prosper Town Council and Prosper ISD’s board of trustees will run from Jan. 15-Feb. 14.

What you need to know

There are three seats up for election in the Town of Prosper:
  • Mayor
  • Place 1
  • Place 4
The positions are currently held by David F. Bristol, Marcus E. Ray and Chris Kern, respectively.

The mayor and council members are elected at-large for three-year terms. Eligible candidates can apply by submitting an application and campaign treasurer appointment form. A full candidate packet is available in the Town Secretary’s office, according to the town’s website.

PISD has three seats up for election—Place 1, 3 and 6. The seats are currently held by Jorden Dial, Kelly Cavender and Garrett Linker, respectively.


Trustees are elected at-large for three-year terms representing the entire PISD community, according to the district’s website. Applications are available from the superintendent’s office located in the PISD administration building.

Looking ahead

The last day to register to vote is April 3. Early voting will be from April 22-29, according to the Texas Secretary of State’s website.
