Experience: CISD board since May 2010; budget committee 13 years; strategic and long-range planning committee

Occupation: Project manager, Schramme Custom Homes

Why are you running for office?

I am running to continue my service to the students, teachers and citizens of Celina by providing the best education available in the state of Texas.

What are the biggest challenges facing the district?

We currently face many challenges, including budget shortfall, teacher pay and hiring, and the impact of vouchers on public education. But the single largest challenge is managing the unprecedented growth that is coming our way—while maintaining our traditional Celina values and culture.

How do you plan to address these issues?

Our leadership team currently works directly with legislators to address/correct school funding, teacher pay and vouchers. Plus, we go to Austin regularly with the council to voice these concerns in person. The board is finalizing the strategic plan to ensure the values and culture of Celina are a focus.

What would your top priorities be if you are elected?

I will continue to work to resolve the issues discussed above. We are also focused on building out the schools approved in the 2019 bond (including two more elementary schools, a second Middle school and High School addition) while putting the long range plan in place for future infrastructure needs.
