The district's fifth elementary school Margie Moore Vasquez Elementary School welcomed its first group of students this school year. Willard Middle School, CISD's second intermediate campus, is set to open during the 2026-27 school year.
Looking ahead
Here are some important dates for the 2025-26 school year.
- Oct. 10-14: student fall break
- Nov. 24-28: Thanksgiving break
- Dec. 22-Jan. 2: winter break
- March 16-20: spring break
- May 22: last day of school
Check out some new initiatives and programs starting in the 2025-26 school year.
- Personal device ban: Once the school day begins, Celina ISD students will not be allowed to use their personal cell phones, tablets or other electronic devices until the final bell. The policy change comes after Texas legislators mandated all school districts adopt policies which restrict students from using personal communication devices during school hours.
- Telehealth partnership with Cook Children's: Students at CISD campuses will have access to Cook Children’s Virtual Health program through the school nurse’s office. This allows students to be diagnosed for common illnesses such as fevers, earaches, rashes, sore throat and pink eye.
- Celina ISD to begin projects in $2.3 billion bond package: After Celina ISD voters authorized $2.3 billion in bond bunds for various projects, district leaders look to start the planning process for opening new campuses. The program is set to build 10 new campuses including the district’s second high school.
