Celina ISD officials have named two of the district’s new campuses set to open soon.

The details

Elementary No. 5 will be named Margie Moore Vasquez Elementary School. The school name honors Margie Moore Vasquez who served 22 of her 44 years in education as principal of Celina Elementary School.

The naming is meant to honor her legacy of academic excellence, advocating for inclusive classrooms and creating a campus culture for students and staff to thrive, according to a district news release.

The district’s second middle school will be named Willard Middle School to recognize the Willard family’s impact on the Celina community. The middle school will stand as a testament to the family’s dedication to education and exemplifying the district’s core principles of leadership, community, innovation, stewardship and excellence, the release stated.
