Freezing temperatures are hitting the Dallas-Fort Worth area as Prosper and Celina ISD students return from winter break—creating the chance for possible closures or delays.

What you need to know

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch starting Jan. 8 through Jan. 10 with chances of slow and sleet. Snow is most likely to fall on Jan. 9, according to the service.

Prosper ISD parents will be notified of any school cancellations, delays or early dismissals through Thrillshare and the Prosper ISD App through email, phone and text notification alerts.

The Prosper ISD website and social media pages will also be updated.

If there is no announcement from Prosper ISD, then classes will be held on a normal schedule, according to the district’s website.

Any Celina ISD updates will be sent to parents from the district’s telephone messaging system, which uses the phone number 866-823-2778.
