After receiving parent and teacher feedback, PISD officials approved the academic calendar for the 2025-26 school year.

In a nutshell

The calendar includes 85 days in the fall semester and 86 days in the spring semester.

Important dates to note in the calendar are:

• Aug. 12, first day of school
• Oct. 10 and 13, student holiday
• Dec. 22-Jan. 5, winter break
• March 16-20, spring break
• May 20, last day of school

Unlike the 2024-25 calendar, next year’s calendars will not have half days or early release days as the committee considered parent’s work schedules and children being home alone during that time.

School times have changed slightly from the 2024-25 school year and are:

• 7:50 a.m.-3:10 p.m., elementary school
• 8:20 a.m.-3:40 p.m., middle school
• 8:50 a.m.-4:15 p.m., high school
