“His mom, dad and grandmother were great cooks,” Kim Wickliffe said. “They're all very passionate about food.”
On the menu
The top three menu items at The Wick are the Classic Swirl cinnamon roll, breakfast taco and their candied bacon appetizer.
“It's hard to find a cinnamon roll that tastes like your grandmother made it,” Kim Wickliffe said. “It's very fresh, soft and delicious.”
Kim Wickliffe said she hasn’t met anyone who doesn’t like their candied bacon which she describes as being “sweet, savory and a little bit spicy and gooey.”
The breakfast menu features eight items and the lunch menu has seven items.
“Our menu is very simple for a reason—everything is fresh, we don't freeze anything,” Kim Wickliffe said. “We keep our menu lean so everything comes out exactly the way we intended it to come out.”

The Wick serves coffee using a custom roast blend created for the restaurant by Prosper’s 1418 Coffee.
“Before we opened [The Wick] we did a cupping—it’s like a wine tasting but for coffee,” Kim Wickliffe said “We paired the beans together to make it pair perfectly with our cinnamon roll.”
Cleve Wickliffe created the recipes for all the food menu items and Kim Wickliffe has taken the lead with their bar program. The cocktail menu features her favorite drinks including lemon drop martini, old fashioned and espresso martini.
“Our pumpkin spice espresso martini is made with cold brew from 1418 and homemade pumpkin puree that is put into my pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving,” Kim Wickliffe said. “It is delicious and one of my favorite drinks.”
The backstory
Cleve and Kim Wickliffe dated when they were in high school and at that time, they enjoyed eating cinnamon rolls from Cinnabon. After high school, the couple went their separate ways. Twenty-seven years later, they reconnected and eventually got married. While at the airport following their honeymoon, the newlyweds—feeling a bit nostalgic—bought a cinnamon roll from Cinnabon but the culinary experience was less than stellar.
“He said, ‘I'll make you cinnamon rolls this weekend.’ He did, and they were fantastic,” Kim Wickliffe said. “About the second or third time he made them ... I told him I think people would buy these. He said, ‘I think you're crazy.’ I said, ‘If I sell them, will you bake them?’ He said, ‘yes’.”
