The frozen yogurt is made with fresh milk from "smiley" California cows, which have not been treated with artificial growth hormones, said Adam Tillery, the owner of the two Menchie’s stores in Prosper.
“It’s really all about quality with Menchie’s,” Tillery said. “You will see that when you get yogurt here.”
What’s On the Menu?
All of Menchie’s yogurt uses name-brand labels due to their various partnerships with brands like Oreo, Hershey, and Dove, Tillery said. Some popular flavors include cookies and cream, original tart, cake batter and pineapple sorbet, which is made in partnership with Dole.
“I would put our flavors right up to any competitor,” Tillery said. “Just take our most popular flavor of cookies and cream, put it up against anyone else's cookies and cream, and you're going to see a lot of people prefer us over theirs.”
Menchie’s also offers limited-time flavors for guests to try. Seasonal flavors in the winter months include key lime pie, dark chocolate and caramel apple pie.
The frozen yogurt shop also offers cakes, which they make locally. Their freezer shelves 20 frozen yogurt cakes for last minute needs, but they can make custom cakes with three days advance notice.
What else?
Almost all the yogurt is gluten free and non-fat, said Tillery. They have a fridge stocked with low sugar or no sugar beverages like water or Gatorade. The yogurt also has no sugar or carb options as well as vegan options made with almond or oat milk.
“Believe it or not, Menchie's is ... doing its best to offer a healthy treat not only for adults, but primarily for children,” Tillery said.
The yogurt shop also gives back to the community, Tillery said.
“We do a lot to support the community that supports us. We do a lot of fundraisers, a lot of spirit nights, a lot of raffle giveaways,” said Tillery.
The background
Menchie’s opened in Valley Village California in 2007 and expanded to 500 locations around the world with 11 in Dallas Fort Worth, according to Tillery.
Tillery bought the Menchie’s in Prosper in 2020 before opening a second location in February of 2024. He hopes to open a third location nearby but isn’t sure where yet.
