Sotomayor opened Cielo Beauty Spa in Celina shortly after moving to Texas in 2019 and identifying the need for a spa. In 2021, she expanded the business into Frisco.
“I knew I wanted to open a second location, I just didn’t know when or where,” Sotomayor said. “This location [in Frisco] just popped up, and it felt like it was meant to be so we went for it.”
What they offer
The spa is a full-service beauty bar that offers waxing and sugaring hair removal, spray tanning, lash lifts, brow laminations and facials and other skincare treatments, Sotomayor said.
“We offer almost every aesthetic service,” she said.
Every service is customizable to the client’s goal, Sotomayor said. When someone books an appointment with a specialist, they will have a discussion to find the services best suited for them.
“Oftentimes, people will book and say ‘I don’t know what I want,’” then when they get with the technician they will have an in-depth consultation,” Sotomayor said. “They will go over what we have and what we offer and [the client] leaves incredibly happy.”

Sotomayor said the staff and their expertise set Cielo Beauty Bar apart from competitors.
“I’ve always had this idea of impacting women’s lives," Sotomayor said.
She said she strives to impact people not just through the services the spa offers, but with the job opportunities it offers as well. Sotomayor said it is “a remarkable thing” to help people provide for themselves and that she feels honored to be able to do so.

“A lot of people think beauty service is a trivial business,” Sotomayor said. “But we can really impact [someone’s] self-confidence. I won’t say we can change someone’s life, but we can really get them feeling better and get them moving in the right direction.”
