1. Celina Fire Station No. 3
City leaders, members of the Celina Fire Department and representatives from neighboring cities and the state government gathered to celebrate the official opening of Celina’s third fire station. Fire Station No. 3 stands at the city’s western border with Aubrey, Texas, and will support Celina as it continues to grow, Celina Mayor Ryan Tubbs said.

2. Apricot Lane Boutique
The store will offer a “unique boutique experience,” according to the company’s website, and will sell women’s apparel and accessories. It was previously set to open April 18.

The restaurant is a new concept from Celina Star Cafe owner Toni Mehmedi. The restaurant will offer several specialty menu items, including a burger served on a doughnut bun. In addition, Brunch Factory will have a full bar. The restaurant will be a part of the The Crossing at Moore Farm mixed-use development on Preston Road that is under development.

The family-owned, locally sourced steakhouse and bar will offer grass-fed steaks, craft cocktails and a selection of wines. All steaks are sourced from K Bar K Ranch, Range Hand Meat Co. and other Texas ranchers, according to its website. All wagyu served is Heartbrand Beef Akaushi raised in South Texas. Its menu includes appetizers, such as crab cakes and stuffed mushrooms, soups and salads, and sandwiches. The restaurant also offers Texas-style dinners, including herb grilled chicken and pork chops. The steakhouse is on track to open in May, owner Kristen Ethridge said in an email.

5. Celina Police Department
Celina City Council members approved an $823,054 purchase of chairs, meeting room tables and other police department furniture for the city’s incoming police headquarters during a March 26 meeting.

Construction on the restaurant is underway, but an exact opening date or timeline is unknown, and the company did not return a request for comment. This will be the first Whataburger location in Celina. The Texas-based restaurant is known for its burgers, fries and more.
