The coffee company was started by three sisters and their husbands, which is where the name Six Sips originated, co-owner Cynda Bearden said.
The backstory
The company has been operational for a little over two years and started as a mobile coffee company, Bearden said. But she and her sisters, Ashley Cotten and Brittany McLeod, decided to make it a permanent spot in Prosper.
“We decided to create this company where we can be a one-stop shop for people,” Bearden said. “There is something on the menu for everybody.”
The sisters started the company after seeing a mobile coffee truck at McKinney Farmers Market. At the truck, they could not find many dairy-free or allergy-friendly options, so they started their own company with those options, she said.
The details
They will offer coffee, pastries and other heartier food options, Bearden said.
The new location is in the construction phase, Bearden said. But once it is open, they want it to be “all about family and the community.”
The design of the shop is community focused. She said she wants people to have their community meetings there, such as Bible study, work and general gatherings.
“We want everyone to feel open,” she said.
