Plano City Council approved $2.7 million for residential paving improvements in central Plano at a meeting June 22.

The city will be replacing 4,900 linear feet of street paving, sidewalks and barrier-free ramps, along with 250 linear feet of water line in some neighborhoods near Independence Parkway, according to city documents.
S.Y.B. Construction Co., a construction company that focuses mainly on projects in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, was awarded more than $2.73 million to start work in the city. Community Investment Program Engineering Manager Clay Lipscomb said construction for this project will start in July and likely be completed in summer 2027.
