MillerCoors and Dallas Area Rapid Transit have teamed up for the second year to provide transit customers celebrating New Year's Eve with free rides on all buses, light rail trains, paratransit vehicles and the Trinity Railway Express from Union Station to CentrePort/DFW Airport Station. The free services will be offered from 6 p.m. until end of service on Dec. 31.
“We’re excited to partner with Miller Lite once again to offer safe rides to local residents on New Year’s Eve,” DART President Gary Thomas said in a news release. “We want to remind the community to ring in the New Year safely and take advantage of Miller Lite Free Rides."
No passes or coupons are required to ride free. MillerCoors has been supporting free ride programs for decades in nearly two dozen cities with safe rides provided to more than 5 million people. The Dallas area campaign started New Year's Eve 2015 and provided more than 37,000 free rides.
“Our partnership with
DART is part of our overall commitment to alcohol responsibility programs,” said Gene Giron, responsibility initiatives manager for MillerCoors, in the release. “By bringing Miller Lite Free Rides back to the Dallas area, we’re working to keep local roadways safe while raising awareness that drunk driving is completely preventable.”
DART and TRE buses and trains operate on reduced schedules for the holidays. Those schedules can be found at
