Effective Aug. 14, Dallas Area Rapid Transit will update some of its bus schedules—four of which affect Plano routes. As part of an effort to include greater access through the DART network, as well as to make routes more reliable and efficient, routes 183, 208, 347 and 452 will be updated Aug. 14. The transit agency urges riders to make sure they have the most up-to-date schedule in preparation for these changes. “The changes are aimed at improving the DART customer experience and follow an extensive outreach process including social media, rider outreach events, public meetings, stakeholder interviews and participation of advisory and technical committees,” a company news release said. Routes 183 and 208 will be updated to include service at the McKinnon and Hunt stop. Routes 347 and 452 will have weekday schedule adjustments to improve the reliability of the schedules. “More extensive service changes are planned for March 2018, with public meetings on proposed changes planned for September,” the release reads. In accordance with DART's 20-year financial plan, the transit agency has recently heard public comments, and is currently considering changes to its fare structure.
