The "safety concern" that resulted in the postponement of Plano City Council's Dec. 11 meting was cleared up shortly after the meeting was postponed, a Plano city official said.
The meeting will resume at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 12 as planned.

The Plano City Council meeting went into recess until 4:30 p.m. Dec. 12.
The Dec. 11 meeting progressed through the end of public comment, but moved into recess following a disturbance between the public and council. Police proceeded to clear the Plano Municipal Center of all individuals who were not city staff or in attendance for an agenda item on the consent or regular agendas.

Following the clearing of the building, an unclaimed bag was discovered by Plano officers who proceeded to direct remaining individuals in the building outside and eventually into the city’s technology services building on suspicion of an explosive device inside the unclaimed bag, an on-scene officer said. Bomb squad was called as a precaution.
The meeting will resume at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 12, which will not require the city to repost the agenda.
