Plano ISD senior high schools will begin offering summer strength and conditioning training over the next few weeks, according to spokesperson Lesley Range-Stanton.

Plano Senior High and Plano West Senior High will begin training June 8, while Plano East Senior High will begin June 15. The senior high school athletic programs will offer strength and conditioning programs for student athletes in grades 7-12.

The district will be following recently released sport-specific instructions and guidelines from the University Interscholastic League. Guidelines include staff screening for COVID-19 symptoms, no sharing of water or food, and no accessing locker rooms or showers.

Coaches will be reviewing these guidelines with parents and students before their first day of training, according to Range-Stanton.

"We will be vigilant in ensuring that these protocols, along with our standard safety practices, are followed," Range-Stanton said in an email June 3.

There are no marching band activities scheduled for June, she said.

More information on schedules and guidelines are available on the district's webpage.
