Late-night drivers in Plano and Frisco may need to take detours in the next few weeks if their path takes them near the intersection of Coit Road and Sam Rayburn Tollway.
All lanes of Coit Road crossing underneath the tollway will undergo full overnight closures beginning 9 p.m. Thursday, according to the North Texas Tollway Authority. The lanes will reopen 5 a.m. Friday, and a series of similar closures will take place most nights through the morning of May 11.
The Coit Road closures are expected to stretch from the northbound lanes of SH 121 in Plano to the access road’s southbound lanes on the Frisco side of the city border. The SH 121 U-turn lanes at that intersection will also be closed nightly.
The closures will take place from 9 p.m. through 5 a.m. each night through the morning of May 11, with the exception of Friday and Saturday nights, when the lanes will remain open.
The only detours will be following SH 121 to the nearest major intersection—Independence Parkway to the north or Hillcrest Road to the south—and making a U-turn.
