The Outlook at Windhaven, a senior living center, has begun construction on its new Plano location, according to a June 23 company release.

It will be located on the former site of Haggard Farms, just west of the northwest corner of West Spring Creek Parkway and Windhaven Parkway near Windhaven Meadows Park. The center will be owned and operated by Forefront Living, a health care and service management nonprofit based in Dallas. The community will be built on 18 acres and include 153 independent-living apartment homes, 30 independent-living cottage homes and 56 unit buildings for assisted living and memory care, the release states.

According to Carl Ede, principal and senior designer with the architecture firm Three that is building the center, it will have a high-end and hospitality-inspired aesthetic.

“The design takes inspiration from the beautiful, existing grove of trees along a small creek on the farmland where we’re building,” Ede said in a statement. “The cottages and other units are oriented so that the expansive windows offer views of the tree-lined setting."

Ede said an emphasis on a “parklike” setting and visual connections to nature set the tone for the design of the new senior living community. An exact opening date for the center has not yet been announced, but the website states it will open sometime in 2024. 972-996-3887. theoutlookatwindhaven.org
