Health officials reported 19 new cases of coronavirus in Collin County on May 28.

There are 315 active cases in the county, a four-person decrease from the day before.

There have been 1,236 total positive cases since testing began in March, and 892 have recovered as of May 28.

Of the county's active cases, 21 are hospitalized, and 290 are in home isolation.

Plano has had 381 cases reported in Collin County. 268 of the city's Collin County cases have recovered, and 10 are hospitalized.


Collin County has reported 16,405 negative COVID-19 tests, and 2,200 people are being monitored for the virus as of May 28.

According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, Collin County has the 11th-highest number of cases and the seventh-highest number of recoveries in the 230 counties reporting to the state.

There have been 33 deaths of people who tested positive for coronavirus in Collin County, including nine in Plano.
