There are plenty of events taking place in Plano this weekend, including the Plano Artfest. Here are some events to put on your radar.
Friday & Saturday
Legacy Live
The Shops at Legacy, located at 5741 Legacy Drive in Plano, has begun hosting a music series, which includes live music performances from local guitarists, saxophonists, violinists, duos and keyboardists. This free event begins at 5:30 p.m. with musicians playing until 8:30 p.m. Friday's performance by saxophonist Brian Stark will take place on the south side of Legacy Drive. Performances on Saturday will take place on both sides of Legacy Drive. Saturday saxophonist Alex Styers and Stark will perform.
Saturday
Alliance Data and Children's Health Plano will host an 1k and 5k run this weekend.[/caption]
Alliance Data Red Balloon Run & Ride
This family-friendly event includes a 1K fun run, 5K run and 5K-bicycle ride and bike rallies ranging from 23-72 miles (prices range from $5-$35 depending on age of participant and event chosen). Proceeds for this event benefit Children’s Health. On-site registration begins at 6:30 a.m. and race times range from 7:15-10:30 a.m. The event will take place at the Children’s Health Plano campus, located at 7601 Preston Road, Plano. Lost Paws Rescue Pet Adoption
This free event will showcase dogs that are available for adoption from Lost Paws Rescue of Texas. All dogs available are immunized, spayed or neutered, receive heartworm treatment if needed and are treated for parasites. Adoption fees vary. The event will be held at the lower level court in front of Macy’s at the Shops at Willow Bend, located at 6121 W. Plano Artfest
The second annual Plano Artfest features a Saturday-night experience geared towards a more contemporary art crowd, while Sunday is the traditional family fun day for young families and art-lovers of all types. The free festival includes live music, performances from local arts groups, an artist village, children’s area and food trucks. Saturday’s festival runs from 5-11 p.m. and Sunday’s festival runs from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Events Saturday will take place a McCall Plaza, located at 989 E. 15

Because Earth Day party & save the honeybee benefit
HubStreat, the food truck park located at 1212 14
th St., Plano, will host an Earth Day and save the honeybee party. HubStreat will be open Saturday from 11 a.m.- 10 p.m. Food trucks will be on site, including Gandolfo’s NY Deli and Fried Pies For All. There will also be live entertainment and bee-themed treats and products. All ages are welcome to this free event. Sunday
Arts & Crafts Expo
The fourth annual amateur arts and crafts expo will take place at Carpenter Park Recreation Center, located at 6701 Coit Road, Plano, on Sunday. The free event will run from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and features work created by recreation center students and instructions. Artwork will be on display and available for purchase.
