The Legacy Willow Bend senior living community is set for an expansion, according to a news release from the developer.

What you need to know

The expansion will add 30 independent living units to the community at the northwest corner of Ohio Drive and Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.

Construction is expected to begin in early 2025, with the expected move-in date for new residents set for spring 2026. Prospective residents can get on the waitlist starting Feb. 27, with a fully refundable $1,000 deposit required.

The units will be “luxury flats,” split between three 10-unit buildings, according to the release. The project will also include an update to many of The Legacy Willow Bend’s community spaces.

Each condo-style flat will feature an open-concept layout, a private garage, walk-in closets and more.

What else

According to the release, the expansion was a response to “increased demand the community has seen for several years, demonstrated by a long-standing waitlist and regional demographic trends relating to senior living.” Plano’s median age of 38.9 is more than three years higher than the state average of 35.2, according to 2022 U.S. Census Bureau data.

The Legacy Senior Living Communities also has a community in north Dallas.
