Ulrich Medical USA, a medical device company, announced Sept. 16 that it will be relocating its U.S. headquarters to Plano.

"We believe it's in the best strategic interest of the company to make this move, which supports Ulrich Medical USA's strategy for profitable growth as we help our customers and distributors achieve new heights and beyond," President and CEO Hans Stover said in a news release.

Ulrich Medical was founded in Germany in 1912 and sells products in more than 80 countries, according to its website. Its U.S. operations are currently located in Chesterfield, Missouri. The company specializes in spinal implant systems, imaging diagnostics, surgical instruments and hospital devices, the website stated.

According to the news release, the company needed a larger U.S. facility and decided to expand “in a more business-friendly environment like that of Texas.”

The company will be moving into a building at 3712 E. Plano Parkway in Plano.

The transition will begin in the first quarter of 2023, and about 30 employees are initially expected to be based in Plano, according to officials. www.ulrichmedicalusa.com
