Celebrity Bakery owners Brian and Brittany Livingston have spent the past year reviving a famous name in the Dallas baking business that will make a comeback in Plano in early August.
The couple, which also owns the Texadelphia restaurant in Lakeside Market in Plano, bought Celebrity Bakery from an investment firm, which bought it from the original owner in 2008. Located at 4709 W. Parker Road, Ste. 450, the new Celebrity Bakery will replace Chocolate Angel, a bakery that had been in that space for about five years but will be relocating to a new location to be announced.
The Livingstons have been working to revive the company’s other locations in Frisco and Colleyville as well as its North Dallas and flagship Highland Park locations. They also plan to hire new event managers and a lead baker at each of their locations to expand the custom cake aspect of the business. The new Plano location will also feature dedicated space for a wedding cake showroom for consultations and event space.
For the menu, the Livingstons have introduced a gluten-free line for many of their baked items, including cookies and pies. Brian said the gluten-free items are made in the store early in the morning to avoid cross-contamination. The Plano cafe will serve breakfast and lunch as well breads, pastries, cakes, cake slices and casseroles to go.
The Livingstons say they hope to also help revitalize the shopping center, which is also home to the new Campisi’s restaurant, which relocated from 3115 W. Parker Road in April.
“All of our marketing is simply saying that we’re back,” Brian said. “We’re a higher-scale, custom baker now with a cafe. We want you to come into each [location] and feel like you’re in your neighborhood bakery.”
