Monday

At the Plano City Council Meeting, council members will vote on a resolution to combine its 2015-19 Consolidated Plan with its Downtown Plano Vision and Strategy Plan. The new Concerted Revitalization Plan will allow the city to designate applicants applying for the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs Housing Tax Credit, which grants competitive 9 percent housing tax credits to build affordable housing. The process allows municipalities to designate one application that developers can use when applying for the credit, which meets the concerted plan’s guidelines. Developers who are approved for the credit benefit by offsetting their federal tax liability. The council will also vote on a related resolution to amend the city’s low income housing tax credit resolution process for review of these applications. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m at Plano Municipal Center, 1520 K Avenue. The full agenda can be found here: http://www.plano.gov/1227/City-Council-Agendas.

Tuesday

The Lavon Lake Watershed Partnership will hold its first meeting to discuss the lake’s new watershed protection program from 3-4:30 p.m. at Myers Park and Event Center, 7117 CR 166, McKinney. The protection plan is expected to take one to three years to create and is in response to recent findings of elevated bacteria levels in Wilson Creek and the East Fork of the Trinity River north of the lake. Lavon Lake was selected for a protection plan since it is the collection point for many area streams and rivers. The lake was also identified as being impaired for low levels of E. coli bacteria. There have also been growing concerns about nutrient concentrations. For more information, visit www.ntmwd.com/watershed-planning.

At the Plano ISD school board meeting, the board of trustees will vote to approve the purchase of school bus and vehicle parts along with playground equipment. The meeting will be held at the PISD Administration Building, 27 W. 15th St., Plano, at 7 p.m. The full agenda can be found here: https://v3.boardbook.org/Public/PublicItemDownload.aspx?mk=50205606&fn=agenda.pdf.
