Jonas Alton Allman, who served as Plano mayor from 1962-64, died Feb. 5 at the age of 88, according to the city.

The city of Plano will fly a flag at half mast Feb. 24 at the Plano Municipal Center to honor Allman, city spokesperson Steve Stoler said.

Allman had been previously honored in 2014 by Mayor Harry LaRosiliere, who presented Allman with a key to the city at the current mayor's annual community address.

Council Member Rick Smith is expected to read a city proclamation at Allman’s memorial service. The service will begin 1 p.m. March 7 at Freedom Church, 2435 E. Hebron Parkway, Carrollton.
