Two closures along 12th Street are planned in Plano to allow work crews to connect the railroad crossings to the city’s traffic signals, according to a news release.

The closures are expected to reduce northbound and southbound traffic to one lane in each direction during the allotted closures, which are set to begin Dec. 15 and last around three hours, per the news release.

Southbound traffic along K Avenue at the 12th Street railroad crossing will be reduced to one lane during planned work between 9 a.m. and noon Dec. 15. Northbound traffic will be cut to one lane along Municipal Avenue at the 12th Street railroad crossing for work slated for 9 a.m.-noon Dec. 18.

Individuals are asked to seek alternate routes during the closures, per the news release.


Both crossings are along the planned route for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Silver Line. The Silver Line is an over $2 billion commuter rail project that will run from Plano into Terminal B in Dallas Fort-Worth International Airport.
