Service for Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s Red Line will be suspended north of the CityLine and Bush Station beginning at 7 p.m. Aug. 26 for construction of Plano’s 12th Street Station.

Two-minute impact

The closure will last through the end of scheduled service Aug. 26 with regular service resuming the following day, Aug. 27. Passengers heading north to Plano will have the ability to catch a provided third-party bus service, according to a DART news release.

The news release said buses providing service between the CityLine and Bush, Downtown Plano and Parker Street stations will be marked with “rail disruption.” DART personnel will also be at the affected stations to assist with finding the bus service.

Construction of the 12th Street Station is part of DART’s plan to make transfers between the Red Line and Orange Line easier for passengers. It will also eventually house the new commuter train, the Silver Line, when service begins in late 2025 or early 2026.
