Plano Metro Rotary Club is hosting its first-ever Pickleball Party, the organization stated in an announcement.

The event takes place May 6 from 6-10 p.m. at High Point Tennis Center, 421 W. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano.

Proceeds will benefit the club’s foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that gives back locally and around the world, according to the organization.

Participants may sign up for the event as a player or a supporter. Donations are also being accepted.

More information about the event and tickets are available online.

Attendees will receive a personal charcuterie box, drink ticket, dessert, 20 raffle tickets, goodie bag and entrance to the party. Activities will include karaoke, an auction, drinks and games.

Players will participate in a pickleball mixer grouped by skill level. They will also receive one hour of court time, which includes a short lesson, and an event T-shirt.

Participants must be age 21 or older.

The nonprofit funds scholarships, donates grants to local nonprofits, gives to food banks and shelters, and volunteers time and resources.
