Continuing work on the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Silver Line rail project will cause road closures in Plano in May.

The specifics

The closures are as follows:

• May 12-15: Shiloh Road between 14th Street and East Plano Parkway
• May 19-22: Municipal Avenue between 14th Street and East Plano Parkway

Also of note

A three-day road closure will also occur sometime in June for the railroad crossing on K Avenue, according to the city.

The background

The Silver Line is a $1.89 billion commuter rail line project that will connect Plano travelers to the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

In all, the project spans the counties of Tarrant, Dallas and Collin along with the cities of Grapevine, Coppell, Dallas, Carrollton, Addison, Richardson and Plano in the northern part of the DART service area.
